This August, Host are celebrating some of Devons finest contemporary creatives, bring an explosion of colour and energy to the gallery.
Expressive abstract painter, Martin Bush, will be showcasing a diverse collection of work which visually displays his complete understanding of colour and movement.
Bush is increasingly being acknowledged as one of the regions leading contemporary abstract artists, having produced artwork for over 20 years. Based in Plymouth, Bush famously occupied a studio in the Royal William Yard, utilising the space as a studio and gallery for 15 years. However, due to current global circumstances, Bush has made the difficult decision to close the studios doors. He is now predominantly focusing on evolving a virtual gallery space, alongside exhibiting in local galleries.
"Everyone sees the world differently and watching and listening to people discuss my paintings is always stimulating, I have felt that looking into an abstract painting can be parallel to looking into a mirror. Your focus becomes a reflection on who you are and where you have been."
Martin Bush will be supported by fellow Devon contemporaries, Alyson Howard and Adrian Bishop.
Howard will be displaying artwork from her latest collection Journeys To Freedom: a bold abstract series inspired by Synaesthesia.
Adrian Bishop celebrates the world of sailing and its protagonists, creating bold, vivid marine scenes. The spirit and honesty of Bishops action-orientated artwork, reflects both his artistic talent and his successful career racing yachts.
Host will be holding a Meet The Artist event, on Saturday 15th of August between 12:00 - 15:00.
The show will be running for two weeks, from the 15th of August to the 28th of August.
